Thought you'd like to know
you got some "run" in the Dispatch today. Now if we can just
get 'em to put the same results on their web site that they print in the
paper.....
FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH . . . -- One ambitious wrestling fan has
created a computer ranking meant to be similar to the one used to determine
pairings for the football playoffs and posted the results at
ohiowrestlingrankings.homestead.com.
Not surprisingly, Lakewood St. Edward has
roughly twice as many points as any other team in the rankings, using results
through Jan. 23. DeSales is No. 1 in Division II and Cuyahoga Valley Christian
Academy is tops in Division III.
Pickerington is fourth in Division I and
Dublin Coffman is eighth. In Division III, Grandview -- rated No. 1 in the
Dispatch-coaches poll for most of the last month and No. 6 in the most recent
state poll -- is 20th, behind Pleasant (seventh), River Valley (10th) and
Northmor (19th).
The ratings reportedly are based on a system
of primary and secondary points -- which are meant to account for strength of
schedule -- gained in dual meets and tournaments.
